Ever heard of Hyperion—the tallest living tree in the world? You probably would if you’re a botany buff. Hyperion, like many trees around us, is notable for its height and its genetic makeup that makes its species, the sequoias, the tallest trees on earth.
For what’s its worth, the tallest trees may not necessarily be the oldest. In fact, an old tree in the Bialowieza Forest in Poland, with a height of a double decker bus, dwarfs in comparison to the younger sequoias.
