We Want You
Yes, you! We’re always looking for new contributors. If you’ve got an idea that is botany related and will challenge our readers and move our industry forward, we want to hear about it. Just work towards bringing readers a fresh perspective on a topic that’s keeping you up at night and we’re good!
Write a guest post by contacting us for more information.
What we’re looking for
You may submit a rough draft, a partial draft, or a short pitch (a paragraph or two summarizing your argument and why it matters to our readers) paired with an outline.
The more complete your submission is, the better feedback we can give you. Keep in mind that we only accept original content and that if your content is accepted, it must not have been published elsewhere (including on your blog).
What we’re not looking for
Please do not send us unrelated materials like press releases or sales pitches. They make us cringe.
We do not accept content without a thesis or clear argument and we do not publish anything that has been published elsewhere.
We pay for your job
We publish three types of content: small-articles, articles, and featured content. Additional criteria must be met for each type, but length typically runs 1,200–2,200 words for feature content, 500–1,200 words for articles, and 450–500 words for small-articles.
Your chosen content should be well-considered explorations of current or cutting-edge topics in the plant sciences industry. We pay $20 per mini-article, $40 per article, and $60 per feature.
